130 episodes of cartoons + 10 feature length movies = 100 hours of content
When the war in Ukraine began our focus point shifted and having the youngest Ukraine audience in mind, we decided to release animations and feature movies in Ukrainian language
In only 5 days we were able to check and prepare 100 hours of content. The task itself was more demanding than it initially seemed. First and foremost – we had to check if the source language is indeed Ukrainian, then we had to ensure that the content itself is appropriate for underage viewing and has no correlation to the current political situation (or no political agenda whatsoever).
From a technical point of view, we provided audio video quality control for both source materials and the final files before publication on the VOD platform. Additionally, we worked on thumbnails, posters and prepared all metadata in Ukrainian language including synopsis.
At the end of the day, all materials for the youngest brave kids were ready to be watched in their mother language (and still are!) on VOD platform owned by ONET
Initial QC
Language check to confirm that the provided audio was indeed Ukrainian.
Content check to make sure it could be shown to children.
Video quality check to verify that source files meet client quality requirements.
Graphic design
Onet required thumbnails for every episode and a poster for a whole series, so they had to be created in our studio.
Metadata creation
Metadata had to be prepared for every series. This also included a synopsis in Ukrainian.
Audio/Video edit
Original video had to be combined with Ukrainian audio and prepared according to Onet specification.
Transcode
Transcoding source files into broadcast files to technical requirements indicated by the client.
Deliverable file quality check
After the final files have been created, a finishing quality check was needed, to make sure that all parameters are correct.
